Computer Learning Month

Ready to sharpen your digital skills? Maybe you think it’s finally time to apply for that job you’ve been eyeing, or you just want to play an online game but aren’t sure where to begin.

As computers become more and more crucial to everyday living, it can be challenging to keep up with all the advances in technology. But no matter what your age or skill level, it seems there’s always more to learn. And, since October is Computer Learning Month, we think it’s the perfect time to explore all that BCLS has to offer in the way of computer literacy!

Mobile Learning Lab

If you cannot attend a computer class at one of our branches, there may be a Mobile Learning Lab stop close by. Learning lab events are held in community spaces throughout Burlington County. Topics covered and teaching style vary by location, offering either one-on-one technology question assistance or group classes. This service brings digital skill-building opportunities all over the county. Find a stop near you today!

One-On-One Appointments

Do you have a more specific tech-based question you would like assistance with?

Our one-on-one appointments are offered at various branches throughout the system. A BCLS staff member will assist you during hour-long appointments with topics such as:

  • Internet Usage
  • Basic Computer Use
  • Resume Writing/ Job Applications
  • Basic Microsoft Word
  • Basic Microsoft Excel
  • Smartphone/Tablet Apps

If your question is more involved or isn’t covered in the above topics, please feel free to request an appointment and elaborate on your query when you make the appointment. Classes
Each BCLS branch offers a wide variety of foundational computer classes to help kick-start your journey into navigating and utilizing computers and the tools they provide. Classes are instructed regularly through library staff and vary by location.

In-person classes currently offered include:

  • Intro to Computers
  • Intro to the Internet
  • Intro to Email
  • Resume Basics
  • Intro to Excel
  • Intro to Zoom

Our virtual computer class currently offered is:

  • Intro to Google Apps

To register for a class, go to the BCLS website Events Page and find your preferred class and branch location. Our reference team is also available to assist you when you’re ready to sign up. (Class space is limited, but we repeat classes often).
