Page Turners Book Club

This month's book selection is Recipe for a Perfect Wife by Karma Brown.

After moving to the New York suburbs with her husband, Alice Hale goes from spending her days in the office to spending them alone in her home as she works on starting her career as a writer. Things soon take a turn when one day, while sorting through old boxes left in the basement, Alice finds an old cookbook that belonged to the home's previous owner--a 1950s housewife named Nellie Murdoch. Between the pages of vintage recipes are hidden secrets about Nellie's life and marriage that get Alice thinking about her own role as a woman and wife in society.

Our book selections cover all genres and take member input into consideration. During each six month period, we discuss at least one nonfiction book and one classic book. We engage in a guided discussion of the book, using questions provided by a librarian. This book club is best suited for adults, but all are welcome to join.
