Friends and Family CPR Course

Almost 80% of sudden cardiac arrests happen in the home. 92% of victims don’t survive, often because people around them don’t act and begin CPR. You can help change this statistic by learning the simple skills of CPR. These skills are taught by American Heart Association faculty instructors, using the AHA’s research-proven, practice-while-watching technique. This allows participants to have the most hands-on CPR practice time possible.

This course covers the lifesaving skills of:

  • Adult Hands-Only™ CPR
  • Child CPR with breaths
  • Adult and child AED (automated external defibrillator) use
  • Infant CPR
  • Relief of choking in an adult, child or infant

Registration is required and open to those ages 9+. Each participant must be registered individually. This event will take place in-person at the Evesham Library.

Please note this training is not appropriate for anyone looking for a certification. This course is intended for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. It is ideal for schools and students, parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life.

COVID-19 vaccines will be available from 3–5:30 pm for ages 5+. You do not need to register to get vaccinated. Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available.

This event is part of a grant partnership between the New Jersey Department of Health and the Burlington County Library System.
