Meet Cat
Hi, my name is Cat and I run the library’s Mobile Learning Lab, bringing digital literacy classes to communities across Burlington County. I also teach the Resume Basics course here at the Burlington County Library. Through group classes and one-on-one sessions, I help residents increase their computer skills. It’s great seeing the growth of all who participate!
I’ve always dreamed of working for a library, so arriving here each day is awesome. I really enjoy hearing customer stories about their lives and what they’d like to accomplish. It’s an honor to be a part of their journey.
Being at the library every day means I get to indulge in so many books! I’m a fan of thrillers and suspense stories, as well as non-fiction books on psychology.
- The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma by Bessel A. van der Kolk
- Born for Love: Why Empathy is Essential - And Endangered by Bruce Perry and Maia Szalavitz
- The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work by John M. Gottman and Nan Silver
- Zak George's Dog Training Revolution by Zak George and Dina Roth Port
- Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
- The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
When I’m not teaching classes, you can often find me reading a book or enjoying the beauty of the four seasons. Burlington County has an amazing assortment of parks for everyone to enjoy the natural beauty of our state. My husband and I love walking around Historic Smithville Park in Eastampton. It’s a great spot to play Pokémon Go too!
One of my favorite things is seeing the community come together and I get the chance to do that almost daily in my current role. It is a great source of fellowship for people and it means a lot to be a part building that in Burlington County. In addition to working for the library, I am a licensed social worker and counselor. My time at BCLS is just starting and I’m excited to see what lies ahead for myself and the communities we serve.
