Meet Diana
Hi there! I’m Diana, the Educator and School Services Librarian for BCLS. Through our Classroom Assistant service, we provide teachers with a variety of library resources to supplement curriculum, and we also assist students with research and learning. My duties include gathering the requests sent in by teachers, and organizing school requests for student access cards. I also spend time preparing for library storytimes.
I’ve been working at the Burlington County Library since September of 2022. Prior to joining the BCLS team, I worked as a library assistant at my hometown library in North Jersey while completing field study for my Master of Library and Information Science degree. At BCLS, my favorite part of the job is choosing storytime topics and finding the perfect books to go along with them. Every time I notice a child joining in during one of my storytimes for the first time, I get incredibly excited; it feels like a stamp of approval!
Naturally, I love to read. My favorite author is Rick Riordan and my favorite genre is fantasy.
- In addition to reading, I also enjoy knitting and my favorite musical group is Fleet Foxes.
- My tuxedo cat’s name is Rickety Cricket (after the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia character) and he was born with a fused tail, so he has what looks like a curly pig tail.
- Another fun fact about me is that my undergrad degree is in film and television production, which led to my professional job out of college working on cycle 23 of America's Next Top Model. Unfortunately, it was the season Tyra Banks was on maternity leave, but Rita Ora was very cool.
