On the hunt for a few good reads to tuck in your beach bag this summer? Swing by the Friends of the Burlington County Library’s upcoming four-day books and media sale featuring thousands of selections to choose from to kick off your leisure time reading. Scheduled to be held Thursday, May 30 to Sunday, June 2 at the Burlington County Library, the spring sale will also feature a nice selection of DVDs, CDs and more to boost your summertime fun.

In addition, a preview sale offered to Friends members only will be held on Thursday, May 30 from 4 to 6 pm. (Become a Friends member at the door for $15 per person, $20 per family, or $10 per senior or senior family. It’s a great way to support your local library.)

The spring sale will feature more than 10,000 donated books not previously available at library events, specially priced books and an extensive collection of media items. Stock up on a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction titles organized by category, most priced at just $1 each, including books about art, history, cooking, religion, the military, sports, STEM, travel, gardening, crafts, biographies, science fiction (including manga) and more. This sale will also feature a variety of CDs priced at $1 each, single-disc DVDs for just $1 each, and multiple-set DVDs for $2 each. There will also be a selection of coffee table books on all subjects available in the “special cart area,” each priced at $2.50 and up.

The sale will also feature:

  • Children's movies, puzzles, games and parent/teacher materials
  • Homeschool workbooks for all ages
  • Comic books for children ages 7 to 12
  • Records in all genres
  • A large collection of like-new quilting project books
  • A selection of audiobooks, most from the library’s own collection
  • Large-print books (limited supply)

All book sale proceeds benefit library programming. Shoppers are encouraged to arrive early to find the best selection and the first 300 paying customers will receive $1 coupons valid for future sales. Can’t make it to the spring sale? Check out the Friends’ ongoing, open-shelf sale inside the Burlington County Library near the Teen Zone. Browse fiction and nonfiction titles for adults, as well as a variety of children’s books during library hours. All items are priced at $1 each and may be purchased at the circulation desk.

The Friends welcome donations of new and gently used books and media for future sales. Please leave your items on the donation cart located in the rear of the Burlington County Library. (Please: no videocassettes, encyclopedias, Reader's Digest and National Geographic magazines, or any items in poor or damaged condition.) Thanks for your support!
