Learn and Play

Miss Elizabeth hosts Bilingual Storytime for children ages 5 and younger on Oct. 28 at 10:30 am. Books are read in English and Spanish, but you don’t have to speak Spanish to attend. All are welcome to join and learn language skills!

For kids ages 3-6, Preschool Storytime on Oct. 24 at 1:30 pm focuses on building early literacy and oral language skills. This month’s storytime is Halloween-themed and caregivers are welcome to join the fun!

Every Tuesday at 10:30 am, children ages 5 and under are also invited to listen to stories, sing songs, and get their groove on during Storytime. Registration is not required for this event, so just stop by. And this month, kids can come in costume during our extra special Halloween Storytime scheduled for Oct. 29. Afterward, all gremlins, goblins and ghouls can practice their trick-or-treat skills at the 11 am Trick-or-Treat Test Run.

Little ones who are ready to shake, rattle and roll should join the Music and Movement events. Kids ages 2-5 will dance, sing and play to get the wiggles out! This month, enjoy an additional Halloween-themed Music & Zombie Movement on Oct. 30 at 10:30 am. Registration is not required.

For a real challenge, kids and tweens ages 5-12 are welcome to join the Chess Club on Oct. 29 at 3:30 pm. Children ages 5-7 should be accompanied by a caregiver and have some prior chess experience. No prior experience is necessary for children ages 8-12.

Tweens, Teens and Young Adults

Kids ages 10-13 should mark their calendars for the chance to watch Beetlejuice during  Tween Movie Night  on Oct. 28 at 6 pm. During this PG-rated Tim Burton movie, when the spirits of a deceased couple find an unbearable family has moved into their home, they make the mistake of hiring a malicious demon to try to drive them out.

If you like to work with your hands and socialize, bring what you’re currently crafting to the Teen Crafting Social. Teens ages 13-18 can make new friends and maybe start a new craft!

There’s also a Teen Halloween Jewelry Making event planned for Oct. 24 at 3:30pm. Teens ages 13-18 will make a spooky skull bracelet just in time for Halloween. Other beads will also be available if you want to create something else!

Be sure to check out the other events at Cinnaminson Library for more opportunities to play!
