Head to Broad Street just north of city hall and spend the day at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA). This historic building is home to the country’s first art museum and art school. PAFA offers new seasonal exhibits and a revolving collection of more than 16,000 works by 18th and 19th century masters, as well as works by contemporary and modern artists like Alice Neel, Mickalene Thomas, Andy Warhol, and Kehinde Wiley. Spend the Day in Manhattan exploring art for free at two of the country’s best art museums. Head to the Upper East Side and check out The Frick Madison, the temporary home of the Frick Collection, and view the works of the old masters from the Renaissance to the early 20th century. After shopping, head across town to the Upper West Side for something completely different.
