New Year, New Tech … Your Library is Here to Help!

January is a time for fresh starts — a new year, new resolutions and for many, a brand-new piece of technology. But what happens when setup isn’t as simple as expected, and the instruction manual isn’t cutting it? Whether you’re unboxing a new phone, laptop, headphones, smartwatch or tablet, the Burlington County Library System is here to help.

The library offers several ways to support your tech needs. For do-it-yourself learners, we can connect you with printed guidesvideo tutorials and even issues of Consumer Reports to help you troubleshoot or plan your next purchase.

If you need a little extra help, our librarians are a great resource. Staff at our reference desks can often assist with minor tech questions, especially those related to library tools and services. Need help setting up Libby on a Kindle or other e-readers? Trying to print an email from your new phone? Looking to borrow games for PlayStation, Switch, or Xbox? We’ve got you covered.

For more complex or time-intensive challenges, you can schedule a one-on-one appointment with a library staff member. These hour-long sessions are perfect for issues that require research, step-by-step guidance or a bit of trial and error. Appointments can be booked by phone, in-person or through the library’s website.

One-on-one sessions aren’t limited to device help. Unable to get to a computer class? You can use an appointment to learn about our databases, build skills in programs like Microsoft Word or Excel, or get assistance with resumes, applications and navigating government websites.

Whatever your goals this new year, make the Burlington County Library System part of your solution.
