Teens: Discover Books You’ll Actually Want to Read

Looking for a great read? Your local library has you covered. We add hundreds of new YA titles every month — from graphic novels to the latest romantasy — and our librarians make it easy (and fun) to find something you’ll love. Here’s how to get started.

A simple way to discover new books is by starting with one you already like.

  1. Search for a favorite title in the catalog at bcls.lib.nj.us.
  2. Open the book’s page.
  3. Scroll to Staff lists featuring this title and Explore further. From there:
    • Browse curated staff lists.
    • Click View all lists for more options
    • Explore Community tags for similar themes
    • Use View all from Syndetics Unbound to find:
      • Similar books
      • Series
      • Authors

No favorite yet? No problem. We create book lists every month on a wide range of topics.

  • To find YA lists:
    1. Scroll to Our Recommendations on the homepage
    2. Click Staff List
    3. Filter by Audience → Young Adult
    4. Hit Update results and start browsing
