Summer at the Library

Get ready for an exciting summer! From June 16 through August 9, we’re inviting readers of all ages to take part in Summer at the Library, a season packed with fun, learning and creativity. It's so much more than just a reading challenge!

This year’s theme, Color Our World: Colorea Nuestro Mundo, celebrates creativity and diversity through art programs and events for all ages. Whether you're decorating the sidewalk with chalk, mastering your knitting skills, experimenting with painting or getting lost in a good story, there's something for everyone!

Here’s how you can take part:

  • Read – Browse the shelves or download a book to take your next adventure wherever you go. Discover your next favorite read, whether it’s a graphic novel, mystery, fantasy or nonfiction.

  • Learn – Use library resources to learn something new or dig deeper into a favorite topic. There’s always something new to uncover.

  • Discover – Join in on exciting activities and programs at library branches throughout the System.

  • Explore – Check out local museums, county parks and other libraries. Make this summer one of exploration, inspiration and connection.

Whether you’re a lifelong learner, an avid reader or just looking for something new to try, BCLS is your destination this summer. Come read, learn, discover and explore with us!
