Find a Sign Language Course
In the search bar, type in “ASL” and you’ll get a list of options. The most comprehensive of these courses is “Learn & Master Sign Language” from Legacy Learning Systems. With this course, you’ll learn the basics such as introductions, gesturing and fingerspelling; advanced techniques such as classifiers and storytelling; and vocabulary from a variety of topics. In addition, you’ll have access to the online learning community. Ask questions and get answers from instructors, or submit recordings to get feedback from other learners.
Traveling internationally and want to learn global signing? “International Sign Language” by Deaf Grammar is another excellent course to view. This is an introduction to every visual language on a global scale and less specific than ASL or BSL. You’ll learn deaf sentence structure, natural sign language, audience perspective, deaf culture and more.
