BCLS Foundation Announces New Funding Partner

Burlington County Library System Foundation Partners with Community Foundation of South Jersey to Grow Endowment for Long-term Sustainability

The Burlington County Library System Foundation is excited to announce a new partnership with the Community Foundation of South Jersey (CFSJ) aimed at building long-term financial assets as an agency fund holder.

Having agency funds at the Community Foundation enables the BCLS Foundation to enjoy low-cost investment options and third-party oversight of its assets. Plus, BCLS Foundation staff can access Community Foundation expertise by connecting with its philanthropic advisors.

“Our libraries are important because they promote learning and provide resources to all,” said Burlington County Library System Director Ranjna Das. “The BCLS Foundation is excited to partner with the Community Foundation to grow an endowment for long-term system sustainability.”

A registered 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization with a mission to support and shape BCLS libraries, the BCLS Foundation raises funds, seeks grants and promotes the library through advocacy. Das, who is also BCLS Foundation board member, noted that the foundation “foresees bequests and planned gifts helping us grow this fund at the Community Foundation.”

CFSJ works with South Jersey philanthropists, local nonprofits, and neighbors to build capital, contribute assets, and create permanent endowments for impact in perpetuity.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Burlington County Library System Foundation on as a fund holder with us,” said Andy Fraizer, CFSJ’s Executive Director. “The Burlington County Library System is a critical civic asset to residents and CFSJ is grateful to assist them grow their library legacy.”

How an agency fund works:

  • The Community Foundation receives contributions from the agency and donors to the fund, and then processes grants from the fund back to the agency.
  • Staff and volunteers who oversee the agency's finances can view the fund balance, contributions and grants 24/7 through an online donor portal.

Donations to the BCLS Foundation fund will assist the library in meeting ever-evolving technology and growing public need for programs that benefit all ages, as well as improvements to the library system’s buildings and other capital needs.
