EXTRA! EXTRA! News You Can Use from the Burlington County Library!

The Paper of Record. The Old Gray Lady. The Times. Whatever you call it, we’ve got it! Every BCLS library location receives a daily print copy of the New York Times — but did you know library customers can access the newspaper online, too?

Through the library’s resources page, patrons can find instructions for accessing the New York Times both in the library and from home. When using a library computer or connecting to our Wi-Fi network (Burlco), you’ll simply need to log in to an existing account or create a new one at http://nytimes.com/register.

If you’d like NYT access at home or on the go, we can help with that too! Go to the New York Times (out-of-library access) page, register a new account or log in to an existing one, then follow the link in Step #2 on the Resource page to activate a 72-hour code. Voila! You’re in.

With this 72-hour access, you can read all the articles and op-eds that catch your eye — and so much more:

  • Listen to their podcasts, like The Daily for a quick news roundup or the Ezra Klein Show for interviews on the topics shaping our world.
  • Watch video essays for a deeper look at everything from politics to science to the arts.
  • Take a break and sharpen the mind with games including Wordle and the (in)famous New York Times crossword puzzle.
  • Find your next culinary creation through the hundreds of recipes from world class chefs available on the Cooking page.
  • Gear up for sports season this fall, both fantasy and real, with the Athletic.

Looking for news a bit more historic or a bit more local? Check out the dozens of other newspapers we offer access to through databases like NewsBank and Newspaper Source Plus and on microfilm at our headquarters in Westampton.

Whatever your interest, keep on top of what’s going on with the New York Times via the Burlington County Library!
