Fandom Fest is back at BCLS! On Sept. 20 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Burlington County Library, this fantastic event invites everyone of all ages and interest levels in our community to come find and celebrate their unique fandoms at the library.
From comic books to anime, tabletop games to video games, genre movies to graphic art, Fandom Fest will represent a diversity of fans and their passions. Attendees are also encouraged to show off their cosplay skills by dressing as their favorite characters and expressing their fandom.
Our convention-style event will feature a variety of activity spaces, including presentations and panels, interactive workshops, vendor tables and more. Here are some of the exciting elements attendees can look forward to at Fandom Fest this year:
- Meet Yumy Odom, the President of The East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention (ECBACC, Inc.)
- Learn how to create a cartoon alongside Mike Dawson, an award-winning author and illustrator
- Go hands-on with retro video games and tabletop games at player stations for kids, teens and adults
- Shop for comics, collectables and other items to directly support local creators and businesses.
Before the fun officially kicks off at Fandom Fest, BCLS is always here to provide a range of available resources and engaging programs we hope will encourage you to explore and embrace your fandom:
- Browse the library’s collection of graphic novels and manga, both physically at our libraries and digitally via the Libby app.
- Browse the library’s collection of movies and television shows, both physically at our libraries and digitally via the Kanopy streaming service.
- Visit art museums and other cultural attractions with passes from the library, including participating museums across NJ, PA and NY.
- Attend themed event series at the library, such as book groups, LGBTQ+ arts and crafts, Dungeons & Dragons and other game experiences.
We can’t wait to see everyone at the library for Fandom Fest this year!
